Project Overview
The Transit Center project involved developing an accurate BIM model from point cloud data for an existing transportation facility in Tampa, Florida. The objective was to create a reliable digital representation of the facility to support documentation, design coordination, and future infrastructure improvements.
OneClick BIM developed a coordinated LOD 300 BIM model of the existing architectural and structural elements, providing project stakeholders with an accurate digital reference for planning, renovation, and asset management.
OneClick BIM's Scope
OneClick BIM was responsible for converting point cloud data into a coordinated BIM model of the existing facility.
The project scope included:
• LOD 300 BIM Modelling
• Point Cloud to BIM Conversion
• Architectural Modelling
• Structural Modelling
• Existing Conditions Documentation
• Coordinated BIM Model Development
The completed model served as a dependable digital reference for future design and operational activities.
Key Challenge
Transportation facilities contain complex structural layouts that require precise documentation to support future upgrades and maintenance. The challenge was to accurately interpret point cloud data and develop a coordinated BIM model that faithfully represented the existing conditions while maintaining consistency across architectural and structural disciplines.
OneClick BIM's Workflow
Point Cloud Assessment
Point cloud data was reviewed and validated to establish modelling requirements and identify existing building conditions.
BIM Model Development
A coordinated LOD 300 BIM model was developed by converting the point cloud data into detailed architectural and structural models.
Coordination Review
The model underwent quality checks to verify geometric accuracy, discipline coordination, and consistency with the captured site data.
Model Validation
The completed BIM model was validated to ensure it provided a reliable digital representation for future planning and documentation.
Final BIM Delivery
OneClick BIM delivered a coordinated LOD 300 BIM model developed from point cloud data for the Transit Center. The deliverables provided accurate existing-condition documentation, supporting design coordination, infrastructure planning, and long-term facility management.
