Project Overview
The Humanities Building Courtyard redevelopment involved creating an accurate BIM model of the existing courtyard and its surrounding infrastructure at the University of Manchester. The project focused on digitally documenting the existing architectural, structural, and MEP systems to support future redevelopment and improve project coordination.
OneClick BIM developed a coordinated Stage 300 BIM model that provided stakeholders with a reliable digital representation of the courtyard, enabling accurate planning, multidisciplinary coordination, and comprehensive project documentation.
OneClick BIM's Scope
OneClick BIM was responsible for developing a coordinated BIM model and extracting detailed project drawings from the digital model.
The project scope included:
• Stage 300 BIM Modelling
• Architectural, Structural & MEP Modelling
• Existing Conditions Documentation
• Drawing Extraction from BIM Model
• Model Coordination for Redevelopment
The coordinated model served as a dependable digital reference throughout the redevelopment process.
Key Challenge
The project required accurate documentation of the existing courtyard while maintaining coordination between architectural features, structural elements, and integrated building services. Producing a reliable digital model was essential to support redevelopment planning, minimise coordination issues, and improve the accuracy of project documentation.
OneClick BIM's Workflow
Existing Conditions Review
Available project information and existing documentation were assessed to establish modelling requirements.
BIM Model Development
A coordinated Stage 300 BIM model was developed by integrating architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines into a unified digital environment.
Coordination Review
The model underwent multidisciplinary coordination and quality checks to verify accuracy and consistency across all systems.
Drawing Production
Detailed project drawings were extracted directly from the BIM model to support design development and project documentation.
Final BIM Delivery
OneClick BIM delivered a coordinated Stage 300 BIM model together with detailed drawings for the Humanities Building Courtyard redevelopment. The deliverables provided project stakeholders with accurate digital documentation, supporting design coordination, redevelopment planning, and improved project execution.
